Here is how you can file the objections:

They can be emailed to: Sec102ComponentPartsTesting@cpsc.gov
They can be faxed to (USA): 301 504-0127

Let’s flood the faxes and emails. This is NOT in the best interest of our country. Not in this economy.

Here is a letter that Tim (Legendsofbatman) sent and he has stated you are more than welcome to copy it and alter it to fit your own needs.

Lawmakers,

I vehemently protest this ridiculous law that is expected to take place Feb 10th. I understand and agree that there is a problem with lead in our merchandise. But this law is irrational, and makes little to no sense at all. Please allow me to explain;

I am a collector of action figures and statues and other merchandise relating to Batman and Star Wars, amongst other items. My income does not always afford me the ability to purchase items I want. As a result, I buy items and then use those items later to trade for other items of equal or greater value. But now, if I am understanding this confused law correctly, I will be guilty of a crime that I had little or no control over? Of course, I am being told I will have committed this crime retroactively, despite that being unconstitutional, and, that I am guilty, unless I can prove I am innocent, also unconstitutional. Of course, i can easily prove my innocence, by spending $500-2000 to have my $5 action figure tested for lead, and IF it is within the restrictive confines, I can then sell my $5 figure. BUT WHO pays the $500-2000 for the derned test?
Can you see how wrong this is on every level? First, it’s unconstitutional. Second, it is absurd. Third, even for the major companies who can afford to have items tested, it’s an economy killer! Yes, in this poor economy, the government wants to make matters worse? I’m already being asked to pay $12 for an action figure that cost $5 just a few years ago. Now, how much more will we be asked to pay to pay for these unreasonable tests? One German toy manufacturer has already stated they will not sell to the USA under these circumstances. So now what? Thanks to this law, I am not able to have certain collectibles? Thanks a lot. And, because of the law, I am not able to sell or even donate my items to charity? And if I do, they and I become lawbreakers? And what do I do with the items I already have? I suppose I am not allowed to throw them away, becaause the landfills will be overwhelmed; nevermind the fact I dont chew my figures. I suppose the Gostapo will invade my home to ensure I am in compliance.
No, this law is wrong on every level. It needs to be reworked, rethought, and it especially needs to make sense.

Tim
